The Transport Appraisal and Strategic Modelling (TASM) division at the Department for Transport (DfT) develops guidance and tools for appraising transport schemes.
The main guidance and tools available for use for local decision makers include:
- WebTAG – a set of guidance units covering how to estimate benefits and costs of transport schemes and combine them in a cost-benefit analysis.
- National Transport Model and TEMPro – a free software to obtain forecasts on transport demand for small geographies across the UK obtained from the National Transport Model, as well as economic and demographic forecasts
- Transport statistics
For any questions on this guidance, please contact the TASM team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
